Choctaw County på Commons

Choctaw County er et fylke i den amerikanske delstaten Alabama. Det ligger sørvest i staten og grenser mot Sumter County i nord, Marengo County i nordøst, Clarke County i sørøst og mot Washington County i sør. Det har også grense mot delstaten Mississippi i vest.

Choctaw Countys totale areal er 2 385 km² hvorav 19 km² er vann. Ved folketellingen i 2010 hadde fylket 13 859 innbyggere.[1] Administrasjonssenteret ligger i byen Butler.

Fylket ble etablert i 1847.[trenger referanse] Det har fått sitt navn etter indianerstammen choctaw. I september 1979 ble fylket erklært som katastrofeområde på grunn av orkanen Frederic.
