Spellemannprisen 2006

Spellemannprisen 2006 blei delt ut i Chateau Neuf i Oslo laurdag 27. januar 2007. Vamp blei kåra til Årets spellemann, og Åge Aleksandersen, Bjørn Eidsvåg og Sissel Kyrkjebø fekk heidersprisen frå juryen dette året. Dei fekk prisen for den langvarige karrieren deira og prisen blei overrokke av finansminister Kristin Halvorsen. I forkant av utdelinga framførte dei tre songen til Erik Bye; «Anna Lovinda». Bransjeprisen gjekk til Stargate som har markert seg som låtskrivarar og produsentar for norske og internasjonale artistar.

Prisutdelinga blei overført direkte på TV 2 og blei leia av Harald Rønneberg og Thomas Numme. Dette var den 35. Spellemannpris-utdelinga og dette året var det ein ny rekord i nummeret på påmeldte bidrag. Då påmeldingsfristen gjekk ut, var det 608 påmeldingar (inkluderer alle sjangerklassane og musikkvideo). Førre rekord var på 568 bidrag frå Spellemannprisen 2005.

Prisen for «årets musikkvideo» blei delt ut dagen før, fredag 26. januar, på programmet Fredag på TV 2 og gjekk til Marit Larsen. Prisen blei overrekt av den internasjonalt kjente musikkvideoregissøren Reinert Olsen (kjent som «Ray Kay») på link frå Hollywood.
