Ruben Sverre Gjertsen (fødd 12. februar 1977) er ein norsk organist og komponist av samtidsmusikk. Gjertsen vart fødd i Volda, men voks opp i Re kommune i Vestfold.[1]

Karriere

Gjertsen har studert innan orgelspel og komposisjon ved Griegakademiet i Bergen mellom 1996 - 2006. Han har også vore stipendiat ved akademiet, og vart tildelt Griegakademiets jubileumspris i 2006. Han har også jobba ein del som organistvikar i ymse kyrkjer. Frå 2007 - 2009 fekk han stipend for yngre kunstnarar. Frå 2008 - 2010 budde han i Berlin som frilanskomponist. Sidan 2010 har han arbeidt ved Griegakademiet.

Gjertsen gav ut si fyrste soloplate med samtidsmusikk, Grains i 2009.[2] Plata vann Spellemannprisen 2009 i klassen årets samtidskomponist. I tillegg vann Gjertsen Arne Nordheims komponistpris i 2010.[3]
