Jan Henry Keskitalo

Jan Henry Keskitalo (fødd 17. januar 1946) er ein norsk samisk pedagog og politikar frå Kautokeino.

Han vart uteksaminert som lærar frå Tromsø lærerskole i 1968, tok spesialpedagogikk ved Statens spesiallærerskole 1971-73 og embetseksamen i spesialpedagogikk ved same skole i 1984. I perioden 1968-74 arbeidde som lærar og seinare spesialpedagog ved grunnskolen i Kautokeino. Deretter arbeidde han ved lærarutdanninga i Alta til han vart konsulent ved Samisk utdanningsråd 1977-1985. Deretter var han undervisningsleiar for samiske studium ved Alta lærarhøgskole fram til Samisk høgskole vart oppretta i 1989. Der var han den første rektoren, fram til 1996. Etter det arbeidde han som dosent i pedagogikk ved Samisk høgskole. Han var også visepresident for urfolkssaker i nettverket University of the Arctic.

Keskitalo var vararepresentant til Stortinget for Høgre i perioden 1969-1973. Tidleg på 1970-talet var Keskitalo også sentral i arbeidet for å utvikle eigne samiske forskings- og utdanningsinstusjonar. Han har også vore medlem av den norske UNESCO-kommisjonen.

Keskitalo er far til Aili Keskitalo.
