Marmot tanah (Marmota monax), dikenali sebagai groundhog dalam bahasa Inggeris, ialah rodensia keluarga Sciuridae, tergolong dalam kumpulan tupai tanah besar, yang dikenali sebagai marmot. Marmot tanah ialah makhluk tanah rendah Amerika Utara; ia ditemui melalui kebanyakan kawasan Timur Amerika Syarikat, merentasi Kanada dan ke Alaska.[2] Ia pertama kali diterangkan secara saintifik oleh Carl Linnaeus pada tahun 1758.[3]
