Mirstošais dendijs (zviedru: Den döende dandyn) ir zviedru gleznotāja Nilsa Dardela 1918. gadā radīta eļļas krāsas glezna.[3] Tā šobrīd atrodas Stokholmas modernās mākslas muzeja kolekcijā.

Darbu raksturo Nilsa Dardela intensīvā krāsu un viļņveida formu lietošana[4] un uzskata, ka tā simbolizē ārēju skaistumu.[5] Formā izpaužas Anrī Matisa ietekme.[6] Lai arī aina ir kā tipiskā nāves gultas portretā, sērotāju ieskautais mirstošais vīrs dievbijīgi neskatās paradīzes virzienā, bet gan spogulī. Vīrietis viņam aiz muguras raud lakatiņā un skatās prom, bet trīs sievietes aprūpē mirstošo. Aptumšotā spoguļa nozīme ir neskaidra; nosaukums norāda, ka mirstošā vīra pēdējā doma bija par savu izskatu, iespējams, kā parodija par nāves gultas portretiem kā žanru. Agrākā gleznas versijā dendijs tur vēdekli un viņa acis ir pilnībā aizvērtas. Dardelam šis žanrs nebija jaunums un viņš bija iepriekš gleznojis "Bēres Sanlisā", kurā parādīts, cik rūpīgi izstrādāts tolaik varēja būt katafalks.

Provenance

1984. gadā glezna tika pārdota kā viens no dārgākajām Zviedrijas mākslas darbiem un šis notikums ieguva plašu publicitāti. Augsto cenu samaksāja zviedru finansists Fredriks Ross un notikums tika raksturots kā kapitālistiska mākslas tirgus simptoms.[5] Samaksātā cena bija 3,4 miljoni kronu un bija jauns Zviedrijas mākslas rekords. Pēc četriem gadiem, 1988. gadā, Ross pārdeva gleznu par 13 miljoniem kronu finansistam Hansam Thulinam, kas atkal tika uzskatīta par pārāk augstu cenu. Pēc tam glezna nonāca finansista Tomasa Fišera īpašumā, kad Thulins 1991. gadā bankrotēja. Šobrīd tā pieder Stokholmas modernās mākslas muzejam.[7]

2007. gada 4. aprīlī ar "Bukowskis" izsoļu uzņēmuma starpniecību gleznas mazāka akvareļu versija tika pārdota par 3,25 miljoniem kronu zviedru kolekcionāram. Dardela darbs Vattenfallet (Ūdenskritums) 2012. gadā tika pārdots par 25 miljoniem kronu[8] un šobrīd ir dārgākā Zviedrijas glezna.
