Juris Švēde
Juris Švēde (angļu: George Swede; 1940) ir latviešu cilmes Kanādas dzejnieks un bērnu grāmatu autors. Viens no ievērojamākajiem angļu valodas haiku rakstniekiem.
Dzīves gājums
Dzimis kā Juris Puriņš 1940. gada 20. novembrī, Rīgā. Otrā pasaules kara beigās kopā ar māti un patēvu devās bēgļu gaitās uz Vāciju, 1947. gadā uz Kanādu. 1950. gadā pārcēlās uz Vankūveru, kur mācījās skolā, vēlāk studēja Britu Kolumbijas Universitātē, ko 1964. gadā beidza ar psiholoģijas bakalaura grādu. Strādāja par psiholoģijas instruktoru Vankūveras pilsētas koledžā (1966-1967), pēc tam Raiersona Universitātē Toronto (Ryerson University, 1968-2006), bija psiholoģijas departamenta vadītājs (1998-2006). Pensionējās 2006. gadā, pašlaik dzīvo Toronto.
