Vytautas Babravičius - Simas

Vytautas Babravičius (sceninis vardas Simas, g. 1952 m. kovo 10 d. Gailiakiemis Alytaus raj.) – lietuvių žurnalistas, dainų autorius ir atlikėjas, gitaristas, country muzikos Lietuvoje pradininkas.

Biografija

1976 m. baigė Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademiją. 1976–1980 m. dirbo Lietuvos televizijoje ir radijuje, 1980–1989 m. žurnalo „Jaunimo gretos“ korespondentas.

Kūrybinė veikla

Koncertuoja nuo 1976 m. Gastroliavo JAV, Kanadoje, Suomijoje, Australijoje, Afrikoje, Naujojoje Zelandijoje. 1978 m. įkūrė pirmąją Lietuvoje country grupę „Deficitai“ ir jai vadovavo iki 1983 m.[1] 1984 m. pasirodė du EP (Melodija) "Tau, Jaunyste" ir "Autostradoje Vilnius - Kaunas", 1988 m. LP (Melodija) "Vyturėliai, jūs mano". Vėliau įvairūs dainų rinkiniai leisti MC ir CD pavidalu. 1996 m. pasirodė CD „Ąžuolams, liepoms“, "Deficitai 1979-1983", 2012 m. CD "...Ir sąžinė liepia".

Nuolatinis Visagino Country festivalio dalyvis. Aktyvus Lietuvos Sąjūdžio dalyvis.

Vytauto Babravičiaus dainoms būdinga ne tik tradicinė lyrinė refleksija ("Nemunui", "Lietuvai"), tačiau ir savistaba ("Pasenėjau, bet nepasenau"), socialinė kritika ("Apie bronzinius lietuvius") bei humoras ("Apie Antano norą ženytis").

Žymiausios dainos: „Lietuvai“, „Sodžiaus jovarai“, "Autostradoje Vilnius - Kaunas", „Žemaičių Robinhudas“, Tau, jaunyste“. Daina "Autostradoje Vilnius - Kaunas" ("Mergiotės išdykę ir geros") virtusi liaudies daina.
