Taurė vyno

Taurė, taip pat fužeras[1][2] – indas atviru viršumi, skirtas skysčių talpinimui ir gėrimui. Sudaro talpykla ir kojelė, ant kurios indas pastatomas (tuo skiriasi nuo stiklinės arba puodelio). Taurės gaminamos iš įvairių medžiagų – stiklo, metalo (taip pat brangiųjų metalų), rago, medžio, kaulo, molio ir kitų medžiagų, neretai įvairiomis technikomis puošiamos (emaliuojamos, auksuojamos, raižomos, šlifuojamos, puošiamos stiklo gumbeliais, inkrustacijomis).

Būdingos taurių atmainos: bokalas, fletas, fužeras, riomeris, berkemajeris, štangenglasas, roztruchanas.

Senovės Graikijoje taurės gamintos iš sidabro, terakotos, senovės Romoje – ir iš stiklo. Sirijoje XII–XVI a. plito emaliu tapytos stiklinės taurės. XV–XVI a. Venecijoje pradėtos gaminti grakščios stiklinės taurės ant aukštos plonos kojelės su reljefiniu tempto stiklo ornamentu.[3]

Taurės ilgą laiką buvo prabangos indai, priklausę didikų, kilmingųjų virtuvėms. Jos buvo gausiai dekoruojamos, puošiamos inicialais. Ir dabar taurės naudojamos dažniausiai švenčių proga, iš jų paprastai geriami alkoholiniai gėrimai. Vakarų kultūroje taurės simbolika tampriai susijusi su krikščioniška Eucharistijos taure. Apskritai, taurė simbolizuoja gyvybinių galių (jas atspindi gėrimas – pvz., vynas (=kraujas)) sankaupą, pilnatvę.

Lietuviškas žodis taurė̃ (dar minimas kaip tauragė) kildinamas iš *taura-ragė (t. y., „tauro ragas“).[4]
