Algimantas Karpus (1931 m. gruodžio 25 d. Babtuose, Kauno apskrityje2011 m. lapkričio 22 d. Vilniuje) – Lietuvos fizikos mokslų daktaras, dėstytojas, knygų autorius, publicistas.

Biografija

Algimantas Karpus baigė Babtų progimnaziją, 1953 m. – Vilniaus valstybinį pedagoginį institutą, kuriame pasiliko dėstyti. 1963 m. gegužės 28 d. Vilniaus valstybiniame universitete apsigynė daktaro laipsnį, tema „Stibio sulfido elektrinės ir optinės savybės bei jų ryšys su kristalochemine sandara ir energetinio spektro juostine struktūra“. 1964–1974 m. buvo bendrosios fizikos katedros vedėjas, o nuo 1981 m. – fizikos fakulteto dekanas, docentas.[1] Algimantas Karpus išleido knygą „Mechanika. Paskaitos” (2003 m.)[2], buvo mokomosios priemonės „Mechaninių dydžių matavimas” (1979 m.) vienas iš bendraautorių.[3] Tyrinėdamas savo paties giminės istoriją, Algimantas Karpus surinko tris tomus istorinių fragmentų apie Karpių giminės genealogiją, Karpavičių, Tryznų ir Karpių giminių, ir herbų istorijos fragmentus bei Karpių giminės dokumentų fragmentus. Šių tomų pagrindu prieš pat mirtį išleido knygą „Carpio Lietuvoje: Karpavičiai. Tryznos. Karpiai” (2010 m.)[4][5][6].
