Paina l'è stada on comun indipendent per longh temp: parròcchia a partì del 1597, la faseva part prima de la Piev de Jaa e poeu de la Piev de Marian e la gh'eva dò frazion ciamaa Brugazz (Brugasc in brianzoeu) e Cassina Bistòrta. In del 1869 Paina l'è stada taccada a Seregn, ma el marches Ludovico Trotti Bentivoglio l'ha ottegnuu la revoca de l'atto e inscì el paes l'è staa corpaa a Giussan.
