적분 변환

함수해석학에서 적분 변환(積分變換, 영어: integral transform)은 어떤 핵(영어: kernel)과의 적분으로 정의되는, 함수 공간 또는 단면 공간 위의 선형 변환이다. 원래 함수의 특성을 좀 더 쉽게 포착하고 응용하기 위해 사용한다. 보통은 변환된 함수를 역변환을 통해 원래 함수 공간으로 매핑할 수 있다.

간단한 형태

적분 변환은 어떤 변환 ${\displaystyle T}$에 대해 다음과 같이 나타난다.

${\displaystyle (Tf)(u)=\int _{t_{1}}^{t_{2}}f(t)K(t,u)dt}$

${\displaystyle f}$는 선형 변환에 사용한 함수를, ${\displaystyle Tf}$는 변환된 함수를 나타낸다. 적분 변환은 일종의 수학적 연산자이다.

${\displaystyle K}$는 원래의 함수와 변환된 함수의 변수를 모두 가지고 있는 함수로, 적분변환은 이 함수를 잘 선택하여 얻는다. 위 식에서 ${\displaystyle K}$를 변환의 커널(kernel) 혹은 핵이라고 부른다.

어떤 커널들은 자신과 연관된 (간단하게 말해서)역커널 ${\displaystyle K^{-1}(u,t)}$이 존재하고, 그것에 대해 역변환을 생각할 수 있다.

${\displaystyle f(t)=\int _{u_{1}}^{u2}(Tf)(u)K^{-1}(u,t)du}$

한편, 커널의 변수의 위치를 바꿔도 커널이 바뀌지 않는 커널을 대칭커널이라고 한다.. 다시 말해서 ${\displaystyle K(t,u)=K(u,t)}$인 커널 ${\displaystyle K}$은 대칭커널이다. 적분 방정식에서 대칭 커널은 자기 수반 연산자이다.^[1]

정의

다음과 같은 데이터가 주어졌다고 하자.^[2]

• 매끄러운 다양체 ${\displaystyle M}$
• 두 (유한 차원) 매끄러운 벡터 다발 ${\displaystyle E\twoheadrightarrow M}$ 및 ${\displaystyle F\twoheadrightarrow M}$

그렇다면, 곱공간 ${\displaystyle M\times M}$의 사영 함수

${\displaystyle \operatorname {proj} _{1},\operatorname {proj} _{2}\twoheadrightarrow M}$

를 통해, ${\displaystyle M\times M}$ 위의 매끄러운 벡터 다발

${\displaystyle E\boxtimes F^{*}=\operatorname {proj} _{1}^{*}E\otimes \operatorname {proj} _{2}^{*}F^{*}}$

를 정의할 수 있다.

${\displaystyle (E,F)}$-핵(核函數, 영어: kernel)은 다음과 같은 꼴의 매끄러운 단면이다.

(여기서 ${\displaystyle \Gamma ^{\infty }}$는 매끄러운 단면의 공간을 뜻하며, ${\displaystyle {\sqrt {|\Lambda (M)|}}}$는 무게 ${\displaystyle (\dim M)/2}$의 텐서 밀도의 실수 선다발을 뜻한다.)

일반화 단면

${\displaystyle E}$에 추가로 매끄러운 노름이 주어졌다고 하자.

이제, 다음과 같은 실수 벡터 공간을 생각하자.

${\displaystyle \Gamma _{\text{comp}}^{\infty }({\mathcal {E}}^{*}\otimes |\Lambda (M)|)}$

여기서

• ${\displaystyle \Gamma _{\text{comp}}^{\infty }(-)}$는 콤팩트 지지 매끄러운 단면들의 공간이다.
• ${\displaystyle |\Lambda (M)|}$은 ${\displaystyle M}$ 위의, 무게 ${\displaystyle \dim M}$의 텐서 밀도의 실수 선다발이다.

이 위에는 균등 노름을 부여하여 노름 공간으로 만들 수 있다.

${\displaystyle E}$의 일반화 단면(一般化斷面, 영어: generalized section)의 위상 벡터 공간은 위 노름 공간의 연속 쌍대 공간이다. 이를

${\displaystyle \Gamma ^{-\infty }(E)}$

로 표기하자.

적분 변환

${\displaystyle (E,F)}$-핵 ${\displaystyle K}$에 대응되는 적분 변환은 다음과 같은 꼴의 실수 선형 변환이다.

슈와르츠 핵 정리는 로랑 슈와르츠가 1952년에 유클리드 공간에 대하여 발표하였다.^[3]
