ამფიპოლისი[1] (ძვ. ბერძნ. Ἀμφίπολις) — ძველი ბერძნული ქალაქი მდინარე სტრიმონზე, მაკედონიაში (თანამედროვე საბერძნეთი). დაარსდა ძვ. წ. 437 წელს. აკონტროლებდა გემთმშენებლობისთვის საჭირო ხე-ტყითა და ოქროთი მდიდარ რაიონს და ეგეოსის ზღვის ჩრდილოეთ სანაპიროზე გამავალ გზას. ძვ. წ. 424 წელს პელოპონესის ომის დროს დაიპყრო სპარტელმა მხედართმთავარმა ბრასიდასმა, რომელიც აქვე დაიღუპა ბრძოლაში და პატივით დაკრძალეს. ავტონომიურობა შეინარჩუნა მაკედონიის მეფე ფილიპე II-ის მიერ ძვ. წ. 357 წელს დაპყრობამდე. იყო ალექსანდრე მაკედონელის ლაშქრობის საზღვაო ბაზა. რომაულ პერიოდში აქ გადიოდა უმნიშვნელოვანესი ეგნატიუსის გზა, რომელიც აკავშირებდა ეგეოსისა და ადრიატიკის სანაპიროებს. არსებობა შეწყვიტა სლავების მიერ საბერძნეთის ტერიტორიების დაპყრობის დროს ახ. წ. VII–VIII საუკუნეებში.[2]

ამფიპოლისის სპორადული კვლევები მიმდინარეობდა XIX საუკუნიდან. 1912–1913 წლების ბალკანეთის ომის დროს აღმოაჩინეს ლომის უზარმაზარი ქანდაკება (ეკუთვნოდა საფლავს, რომელსაც მიაწერენ ლაომედონს, ალექსანდრე მაკედონელის მხედართმთავარს); შემდგომში იპოვეს მისი კვარცხლბეკი და 1936 წელს ძეგლი აღდგენეს პირვანდელი სახით. შემორჩენილია ქალაქის კედლების, კლიოს ტაძრის, 50 მეტრზე მეტი სიგრძის პორტიკის ნაშთები, რომლის ადგილზეც აღმოჩნდა ადრებიზანტიური ეკლესიების ნაშთებიც. არის წარწერები, მოზაიკები და სხვა. ძვ. წ. V საუკუნიდან რომაულ ხანამდე პერიოდის ნეკროპოლისი. გამოირჩევა ელინისტური პერიოდის აღმოჩენები (სარკოფაგები, მოხატულობა, ოქროს სამკაულები და სხვა).[2]
