リヒャルト・コルクヴィッツ

リヒャルト・コルクヴィッツ（Richard Kolkwitz、1873年3月23日 - 1956年4月16日）は、ドイツの藻類などを専門とする、植物学者。

略歴

ベルリンに生まれた。ベルリン大学でアドルフ・エングラーやジーモン・シュヴェンデナーらに自然科学を学び、1895年に博士号を得た。1895年から1916年の間、クニ（Leopold Kny）の助手を務める一方、1898年からベルリン農業大学の植物学の教授を務めた。

1901年から1938年の間、ベルリン上下水道研究試験所の生物学部門長を務めた。同時にベルリン大学の教授も務めた。1951年からベルリンのフンボルト大学の獣医学部の植物学の部門の教授、1954年からベルリン自由大学で植物学の教授を務めた。

マールソン（Maximilian Marsson）と共同で「生物学的水質判定」（指標生物の有無により水質を判定する方法）を開発し、多くの指標生物と汚濁の関係を定義し生物学的水質判定法のパイオニアとなった。

ラーベンホルスト（Gottlob Ludwig Rabenhorst）の「ドイツ、オーストリア、スイスの隠花植物」（"Kryptogamen-Flora von Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz"）の執筆に参加し、いくつかの藻類の章を執筆した。

スイカズラ科の植物の属名、Kolkwitzia（和名：ショウキウツギ属）に献名された。
