È possibile aggiungere come parametro opzionale "breve" per evitare la scritta UniProt (es. utile in liste o tabelle con diversi collegamenti). {{uniprot|ID accesso|breve}}

Esempio

Per collegare la subunità alfa1 del recettore nicotinico si dovrà inserire {{UniProt2|P02708}}, che genererà questo: UniProt P00760. Con l'opzione breve diventa: P00760
