Vectomov nel 2016

Sonja Vectomov (Hradec Králové, 21 maggio 1979) è una musicista e pedagoga ceca naturalizzata finlandese.Vectomov è una compositrice elettronica che proviene da una famiglia radicata nel mondo della musica classica.[1] La Vectomov è sposata con il direttore e scrittore statunitense David Woodard.[2] I suoi genitori sono Vladimír Večtomov e Sonja Vectomov.

All'inizio degli anni 2000, la Vectomov ha studiato alla Norwich University of the Arts, dove ha conseguito una laurea con lode nel 2005.[2][3]

Carriera

Gli esperimenti musicali di Sonja Vectomov sono iniziati negli anni 1980 in Finlandia e hanno coinvolto musique concrète con registratori casalinghi, quattro anni di esibizioni e tournée con il coro di bambini Vox Aurea sotto la direzione di Kari Ala-Pöllänen,[4] e violino e piano studiati in un corso per bambini precoci al Keski-Suomen konservatorio, dove suo padre Vladimír Večtomov insegna chitarra classica. Come artista solista, i concerti di Vectomov a volte comportano elementi di installazione, ad esempio la trasformazione di un palcoscenico in un salone.[6] Sonja cita Conlon Nancarrow e David Byrne come influenze importanti.[7]

Lamprophrenia

Il titolo dell'album di esordio sperimentale di Vectomov è il suo portmanteau coniato da lei delle parole nuovo latino / greco lampron (brillante) e phrenia (mente).[8] L'album contiene composizioni elettroniche con voce,[5] ed è considerato imprevedibile e "pieno di colpi di scena inaspettati".[9]

Il primo singolo "Two in One", per il quale Mika Johnson ha diretto un video musicale con la prima ballerina Jana Andrsová, "racconta una storia di morte e trasfigurazione, karma interspecie e coscienza vegetale—questa versione inaugurale di Lamprophrenia pulsa con ritmi di sintetizzatore nucleopatriphobic, violino, viola, armonica, mandolino e intonazioni sopraffine di Vectomov."[10]

Varie
