Research Square è una piattaforma che fornisce un accesso aperto ai preprint in formato elettronico approvati per la pubblicazione dopo moderazione, ma non ancora sottoposti a revisione paritaria.[1]

Il predecessore di Research Square era American Journal Experts.[2][3] La piattaforma Research Square è stata fondata nel 2013 e acquisita dalla Springer Nature nel 2022.[4][5]

Il server accetta contributi provenienti da tutti i campi della ricerca, come le scienze fisiche, biomediche e sociali. A maggio 2023, Research Square conteneva più di 223.000 preprint.[6]

I preprint caricati su Research Square devono essere rilasciati con una licenza CC-BY. Se fossero caricati altrove con una licenza diversa (ad esempio CC-BY-SA), violerebbero i termini di tale licenza.
