Soetomo Djauhar Arifin (lahir di Buluh, Madiun, Jawa Timur 15 Juni 1916 – meninggal di Jakarta, 16 Oktober 1959 pada umur 42 tahun) adalah seorang penyair, cerpenis, dramawan, dan wartawan.

Pendidikan dan Karier

Pendidikannya hanya sampai Sekolah Dasar (SD), kemudian ia menambah pendidikannya dengan kursus juru gambar (tekenaar) dan pemeriksaan (opnemer) di Semarang). Pada zaman Jepang, Soetomo bekerja pada kantor Pusat Kebudayaan Bagian Kesusastraan. Dia dikenal sebagai seorang wartawan yang aktif dan berani sehingga pada masa sebelum perang berkali-kali dimasukkan ke dalam penjara karena tindak pidana pers (persdelict) dan pelanggaran atas larangan berapat. Setelah Indonesia merdeka, Ia bekerja pada Kementerian Penerangan, dan terakhir Soetomo menjabat sebagai Kepala Urusan Publisitas.[1]

Karya Tulis

Karya-karyanya yang berupa sajak, cerpen, dan drama tersebar di berbagai majalah dan surat kabar. berbagai judul drama telah ia buat diantaranya "Sastrawan dan Tanah Air" (Arena, No.4-6Th.,1946), "Pancaroba" (sstrawan, 1947), "Pemuda Pancaroba" (djawa Baroe, 1944), dan "Sosialis Pancaroba" (sastrawan, 1947). Lalu puisinya "Lajulah, Laju Bahtera seniku" (Panji Poesaka, 1942), "Sajak Kapas" (Keboedayaan Timoer, 1944), dan "Segara Nusantara".[1]
