Sel T pembantu

Presentasi antigen menstimulasi sel T untuk menjadi baik sel T sitotoksik CD8+ atau sel T "helper" CD4+

Sel T pembantu (bahasa Inggris: T helper cell, Th, T effector cell) adalah sub-kelompok limfosit (jenis sel darah putih atau leukosit) hasil aktivasi sel T CD4+ yang memainkan peran penting dalam sistem imun.[1] Sel T pembantu tidak memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik. Sel ini tidak dapat membunuh patogen secara langsung.

Sel TH ikut serta dalam mengaktivasi dan mengarahkan sel imun lainnya, dan penting pada sistem kekebalan tubuh. Mereka penting dalam menentukan pemilihan kelas antibodi sel B, aktivasi dan pertumbuhan sel T sitotoksik, dan memaksimalkan aktivitas bakterisidal dari fagosit seperti makrofag. Sel ini disebut sel T pembantu karena perannya dalam membantu sel-sel lain untuk meningkatkan aktivitasnya.
