Hanzi: 中文学校

Sekolah Tionghoa (Hanzi sederhana: 中文学校; Hanzi tradisional: 中文學校; Pinyin: zhōng wén xué xiào) adalah sebuah sekolah yang didirikan untuk keperluan mengajarkan ragam Tionghoa (terutama Mandarin dan Kanton), meskipun keperluannya dapat meragamkan aspek pengajaran berbeda dari budaya Tionghoa seperti seni rupa, kaligrafi dan seni rupa bela diri Tionghoa. Program-programnya dapat merupakan suatu lembaga independen atau sebuah bagian dari lembaga pendidikan yang ada. Contohnya, Huaxia Chinese School di Great Valley, Pennsylvania beroperasi independen dari Great Valley High School dimana sekolah tersebut mengajar.[1] Namun, beberapa program merupakan bagian dari kurikulum sekolah tersebut dan umumnya merupakan cabang dari departemen bahasa asing. Menurut berbagai pernyataan misi, beberapa sekolah Tionghoa disiapkan untuk menyajikan bahasa dan budaya Tionghoa tradisional.[2] Pada 2007, USA Today menjuluki bahasa Tionghoa "... adalah bahasa Inggris baru."[3] Sebuah tren terkini pada 2011 menunjukkan bahwa pemerintah Tiongkok telah menyediakan dana untuk distrik-distrik sekolah AS dengan tambahan dana melebihi pendanaan yang mereka raih dari pemerintah AS. Hasilnya, terdapat juga perhatian bahwa pemerintah Tiongkok yang menginfiltrasi sistem pendidikan di luar perbatasannya, seperti beberapa orang di sebuah distrik sekolah di Columbus, Ohio yang merasakannya.[4]
