Satelight Inc. (株式会社サテライト, Kabushiki-gaisha Sateraito) adalah sebuah studio animasi Jepang yang merupakan divisi dari operator pachinko Sankyo Group.

Sejarah

Studio ini didirikan pada Desember 1995, di Sapporo, Hokkaidō, proyek pertama mereka adalah Bit the Cupid, seri animasi televisi pertama di dunia yang 100% digital.[2] Name Satelight sendiri terdiri dari S untuk Sapporo, A untuk Animate, T untuk Technology dan E untuk Entertainment. Presiden perusahaan ini adalah Michiaki Satō. Direktur dan pembuat anime terkenal, Shōji Kawamori adalah seorang direktur eksekutif di studio ini.[1]

Tahun 1996, proyek yang dikerjakan adalah memproduksi animasi komputer untuk Īhatōbu Gensō: Kenji no Haru. Kemudian didirikanlah studio produksi pada tahun 1998 di Suginami, Tokyo. Tak lama kemudian, studio ini memproduksi seri televisi pertama mereka, Chikyū Shōjo Arjuna tahun 2001. Tahun 2006, Satelight mengubah cabang utamanya dari Sapporo ke Tokyo.
