"Put Your Hearts Up" adalah debut single oleh penyanyi asal Amerika Serikat, Ariana Grande.[2] Ia merilis lagu ini di bawah Republic Records (pada saat itu, Universal Republic Records) pada 12 Desember 2011. Lagu ini mengambil sampel lagu "What's Up?" (1993) oleh 4 Non Blondes.

Latar belakang

Grande mulai mengerjakan album debutnya ketika syuting Victorious dan secara resmi mulai mengerjakannya dengan label rekaman setelah dia masuk ke Universal Republic Records pada 10 Agustus 2011.[3][4] Pada 10 September 2011, Grande sudah menyiapkan dua puluh lagu dan sedang melewati proses mempersempitnya menjadi tiga belas.[5] "Put Your Hearts Up" ditulis oleh Matt Squire, Linda Perry dan Martin Johnson. Lagu ini dirilis sebagai single pertama pada 12 Desember 2011. Lagu ini merupakan lagu pop bubblegum "terinspirasi dari musik 50-an, 60-an" yang berbicara tentang membuat dunia menjadi tempat yang lebih baik.[6]

Musik video

Musik video untuk "Put Your Hearts Up" direkam pada 23 November 2011. Disutradarai oleh Meiert Avis dan Jeremy Alter. Pada 14 Februari 2013, musik video resmi diunggah di YouTube resmi Ariana Grande.[7]

Kemudian pada Maret 2013, ketika musik video "The Way" dirilis, musik video untuk "Put Your Hearts Up" dibuat pribadi di akun Vevo Grande atas permintaan Grande. Video itu kemudian dipublikasikan lagi pada bulan April 2014 dan dihapus tak lama setelah itu.[8]
