Penyibakan layar (bahasa Inggris: Screen tearing) adalah masalah visual dengan pemrosesan gambar yang dialami oleh Monitor Komputer ketika tingkat prapenyegaran pada monitor komputer terlambat untuk menyesuaikan dengan tingkat prapenyegaran Kartu grafis.[1]

Penyibakan layar dapat terlihat saat monitor komputer menampilkan kejadian pertama suatu Program Komputer yang membutuhkan tenaga proses kartu grafis, dan pada saat yang sama kartu grafis menurunkan tingkat prapenyegaran menyebabkan kejadian berikutnya dimunculkan sebelum atau setelah dari waktu yang seharusnya. Masalah ini menyebabkan satu gambar memiliki fragmentasi di berbagai bagian gambar yang dimunculkan monitor komputer.

Pencegahan

Ada berbagai cara untuk mengurangi risiko screen tearing, namun setiap cara terbatas dengan kompatibilitas spesifikasi yang dimiliki kartu grafis dalam unit yang memproses dan berdasarkan kemampuan monitor komputer.

Penyanggaan rangkap

Berdasarkan Ilmu komputer (bahasa inggris: Computer Science), penyanggaan rangkap adalah suatu cara untuk menyimpan blok data dengan penyangga yang melebihi dari satu penyangga sehingga data bisa dibaca dengan lengkap, mengurangi risiko data korup akibat data belum selesai ditulis saat dibaca.

V-sync

V-sync atau penyesuaian vertikal adalah pengaturan yang terdapat pada kartu grafis tertentu untuk merendahkan Tingkat bingkai (bahasa inggris: frame rate) untuk menyesuaikan kemampuan monitor komputer untuk mengurangi screen tearing.[2] Namun bisa menyebabkan penurunan performance pada program tertentu dan program memiliki kemungkinan untuk terlambat untuk menerima input penguna komputer.
