Olimpiade musim panas ke-10 diadakan pada tahun 1932 di Los Angeles, California, Amerika Serikat. Selain Los Angeles tidak ada kota lain yang mencalonkan diri sebagai tuan rumah olimpiade ini. Olimpiade diselenggarakan ketika dunia sedang dilanda Depresi Hebat. Sejumlah besar negara tidak mengirimkan atlet karena tidak memiliki dana. Olimpiade ini diiikuti 1.332 atlet dari 37 negara yang bertanding dalam 116 nomor lomba dari 14 cabang olahraga yang dipertandingkan. Amerika Serikat meraih 103 medali terbanyak (41 emas, 32 perak, 30 perunggu).

Jumlah atlet peserta hanya setengah dari Olimpiade Amsterdam 1928. Presiden AS Herbert Hoover tidak menghadiri acara pembukaan olimpiade, dan menjadi kepala pemerintahan pertama yang tidak menghadiri olimpiade yang diadakan di negaranya.[1] Walaupun komite penyelenggara Olimpiade LA 1932 tidak mengumumkan laporan keuangan, surat kabar melaporkan keuntungan sebesar 1 juta dolar AS.[1]
