Annas Allaf, atau lebih dikenal dengan nama Michael Heart, adalah pemusik Amerika Serikat. Ia lahir di Suriah dan kedua orangtuanya berasal dari Suriah.[1] Heart tumbuh dengan berbagai latar belakang budaya. Ia besar di Swiss, Austria, Timur Tengah, dan Amerika Serikat.[2]

Biografi

Heart mulai memainkan gitar dan piano pada usia 10 tahun. Ketika remaja, ia mulai menggubah lagu dan menyanyikannya sendiri. Setelah lulus dari jurusan teknik audio (audio engineering) di Full Sail University, California, tahun 1990, Heart pindah ke Los Angeles. Heart membuka studio rekaman lokal di rumahnya dan disana ia mengasah kemampuannya sebagai seorang teknisi rekaman dan gitaris.[2]

Heart telah bekerja sama dengan sejumlah artis terkemuka selama 18 tahun terakhir, terdiri dari Brandy, Will Smith, Toto, Natalie Cole, The Temptations, Phil Collins, Patty LaBelle, The Pointer Sisters, Earth Wind & Fire, Ricky Lee Jones, Lou Rawls, Jesse McCartney, Hillary Duff, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Paige, Al Jarreau, K-Ci & Jojo, Deborah Cox, Monica, Taylor Dayne, Keiko Matsui, Steve Nieves, Luis Miguel dan Tarkan. Heart juga fasih dalam berbahasa Prancis. Hal ini mempermudah langkahnya untuk sejumlah artis Prancis: Calogero (The Charts), Marc Lavoine, dan Veronique Sanson. Ia juga pernah bekerjasama dengan produser David Foster. Sebagian besar pekerjaan Heart di dalam studio, tetapi, Ia juga berkeliling sebagai gitaris flamenco dan menjadi personel band smooth jazz, Jango.[2]

Heart memperoleh perhatian dunia ketika ia menulis lagu We Will Not Go Down, yang merupakan bentuk simpatinya atas tragedi pembantaian Israel ke Gaza, Akhir Desember 2008 hingga Januari 2009. Lagu ini ia sediakan secara gratis untuk di-download dari situs pribadinya, tetapi ia menyarankan dalam situsnya untuk memberikan donasi untuk Gaza melalui United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.

Hingga 9 Februari 2009, We Will Not Go Down telah di-view hingga 1,021,000 kali di Youtube, mp3-nya di-download sebanyak 325,000 kali, dan telah mendapatkan email respon sebanyak 10,000 email, komentar dan pesan.[3]

Heart juga merilis album bertajuk Unsolicited Material yang beraliran pop/rock dengan tema yang serius, misalnya kekerasan rumah tangga (Finally Free) perzinaan (Living in Sin), dan perang (Damaged World).
