Marga Ulu Rawas

Marga Ulu Rawas, dalam catatan Belanda dikenal sebagai Oeloe Rawas[1] adalah kesatuan masyarakat adat teritorial-genealogis suku Rejang yang terletak di bekas Onderdistricten Soeroelangoen (Sarolangun), Onderafdeeling Rawas, sekarang termasuk dalam wilayah administratif Kecamatan Ulu Rawas, Musi Rawas Utara. Marga Ulu Rawas dalam bahasa Rejang disebut Ulau Awês atau Ulau Abês. Marga ini merupakan satu-satunya marga dengan penduduk berbahasa Rejang yang berada di luar Bengkulu.

Marga Ulu Rawas wilayahnya meliputi Kuto Tanjung, Muara Kuis, Muara Kulam, Napal Licin, dan Sosokan. Leluhur penduduk marga ini datang dari Lebong. Mereka memasuki kawasan Ulu Rawas melalui Sungai Kulus dan mendirikan Napal Licin sebagai desa Ulu Rawas tertua.[2]
