Komite Olimpiade Tiongkok (Hanzi sederhana: 中国奥林匹克委员会; Hanzi tradisional: 中國奧林匹克委員會; Pinyin: Zhōngguó Àolínpǐkè Wěiyuánhuì; Wade–Giles: Chung-Kuo Ao-Lin-P'i-K'o Wei-Yüan-Hui; kode IOC: CHN) telah menjadi badan yang resmi ditunjuk oleh Republik Rakyat Tiongkok (RRT) berkenaan dengan Olimpiade dan federasi olahraga internasional afiliasi lainnya sejak 1979, ketika Resolusi Nagoya disetujui oleh Komite Olimpiade Internasional (IOC).

Garis waktu berikut menyangkut nama-nama dan acara-acara utama yang berbeda berkenaan dengan pengakuan tim Olimpiade Republik Tiongkok:

  • 1910: "Komite Olimpiade Nasional Tiongkok" (中國奧林匹克委員會) dibentuk untuk mewakili kepentingan Tiongkok dalam kegiatan Olimpiade.
  • 1922: IOC mengakui CNO ini
  • 1932: Republik Tiongkok bertanding di Olimpiade untuk pertama kalinya sebagai "China"[1]
  • 1951: The Chinese National Olympics Committee moves from Nanking to Taipei;[2]
  • 1951: Komite Olimpiade Nasional Tiongkok RRT dibentuk;[2]
  • 1952: Komite Olimpiade Nasional Tiongkok RRT diundang ke Olimpiade untuk pertama kalinya, pada Olimpiade Musim Panas 1952 di Helsinki. Hanya satu atlet, Wu Chuanyu, seorang perenang, yang dapat berpartisipasi, mengingat bahwa Komite "diterima bergabung hanya dua hari sebelum pembukaan Olimpiade".[3]
  • 1954: IOC menyetujui sebuah resolusi yang secara resmi mengakui "Komite Olimpiade Tiongkok" (中国奥林匹克委员会) Republik Rakyat Tiongkok (RRT). RRT diundang ke Olimpiade Melbourne. RRT mengatur sebuah delegasi namun menarik diri sebagai protes terhadap isu dua Tiongkok;[2][4]
  • 1958: RRC menarik diri dari gerakan Olimpiade dan dari federasi yang mengatur olahraga Olimpiade. Profesor Tung Hou Yi, seorang anggota IOC untuk RRT mengundurkan diri;[2]
  • 1979: IOC secara resmi mengakui Komite Olimpiade Tiongkok RRT sebagai badan perwakilan untuk "Tiongkok" di bawah pemerintahan Komunis. Komite Olimpiade Tiongkok Republik Tiongkok secara resmi berganti nama menjadi "Komite Olimpiade Tionghoa Taipei".[2][4]
