Jembatan Tumbang Nusa atau dikenal juga dengan Jalan Layang Tumbang Nusa adalah rangkaian jembatan layang yang membentang di atas area lahan gambut yang dialiri oleh anak Sungai Kahayan yang lebar didekatnya yang terletak di Desa Tumbang Nusa, Kecamatan Jabiren Raya, Kabupaten Pulang Pisau, Kalimantan Tengah. Jembatan ini merupakan bagian dari Jalan Nasional VII Kalimantan yang menghubungkan antara Palangkaraya dengan Banjarmasin^[4].

Latar belakang

Ruas jalan nasional antara Palangkaraya dan Banjarmasin tepatnya di wilayah Desa Tumbang Nusa, Kecamatan Jabiren Raya, Kabupaten Pulang Pisau, Kalimantan Tengah seringkali terganggu dan putus karena terendam luapan lahan rawa gambut dan aliran Sungai Kahayan yang berada didekatnya^[5].

Putusnya arus lalu lintas di Jalan Raya ini terutama sering terjadi di musim penghujan mengakibatkan terganggunya arus lalu lintas penumpang dan barang antara 2 ibukota provinsi yaitu Palangkaraya dan Banjarmasin.

Desain

Untuk mencegah kembali terputusnya Jalan nasional antara Palangkaraya dan Banjarmasin ini, pemerintah berencana membangun Jembatan layang di lokasi tersebut dengan model peninggian jalan setinggi 3 meter agar ketika musim penghujan ruas jalan tidak tergenang banjir, desain serupa juga digunakan untuk konstruksi Jalan Tol Prof. Dr. Sedyatmo di Jakarta^[6].

Konstruksi

Pembangunan jembatan Tumbang Nusa ini dibagi menjadi 3 tahap, Tahap I dibangun sepanjang 3,37 Km yang dikerjakan sejak tahun 2000 hingga 2004, Tahap kedua dibangun sepanjang 3,72 Km dikerjakan tahun 2005 hingga 2006 dan tahap ketiga dibangun sepanjang 3,5 Km dikerjakan tahun 2011 hingga 2014^[7].

Awalnya Jembatan Tumbang Nusa ini dibangun sepanjang 7 Km saja akan tetapi kekhawatiran akan tingginya air pasang di Desa Tumbang Nusa membuat pemerintah memperpanjang jembatan ini menjadi 10,5 Km^[8]^[9].

Dibangun dengan metode konstruksi pile slab, memiliki kedalaman tiang pancang antara 32 hingga 44 meter dibawah tanah dan direncanakan dapat bertahan selama 50 tahun^[10].

Pariwisata

Jembatan ini juga menjadi daya tarik wisata tersendiri, dimana para pelintas banyak yang menyempatkan diri untuk berhenti untuk melihat pemandangan sekitar dan berswafoto^[11].
