"E & C & Y" (singkatan dari "Eros & Chrisye & Yockie")[1] adalah komposisi instrumental yang diciptakan oleh Eros Djarot, dan Chrisye. Lagu ini pertama kali muncul dalam album soundtrack Badai Pasti Berlalu yang dirilis pada tahun 1977.

Latar belakang dan rekaman

"E & C & Y" merupakan salah satu dari beberapa lagu baru yang diciptakan khusus untuk proyek album Badai Pasti Berlalu.[2] Lagu ini juga merupakan salah satu dari tiga lagu baru yang diciptakan oleh Eros Djarot dan Chrisye setelah Merepih Alam" dan "Serasa". Sebelumnya lagu ini akan dituliskan liriknya oleh Eros Djarot dan segera dinyanyikan oleh Chrisye. Namun karena Chrisye merasa kesulitan mengimbangi vokalnya akibat banyaknya sinkopasi di dalam lagunya; serta Eros belum sempat menyelesaikan liriknya, akhirnya Eros memutuskan "E & C & Y" dijadikan sebagai lagu intrumentalia.[1][2][3]

Ketika dalam proses rekamannya, Chrisye berperan memainkan bass dan gitar elektrik. Kemudian bagian Kibor dimainkan oleh Yockie Suryo Prayogo, dan bagian drum kembali dimainkan oleh Fariz R.M.. Penyusunan aransemen untuk lagu "E & C & Y" dikerjakan oleh Eros, Chrisye, dan Yockie.[4]
