Brinji tunggir-kuning ( Iole crypta ) adalah spesies burung penyanyi dalam keluarga bulbul, Pycnonotidae. Ia dijumpai di Myanmar tenggara, Thailand barat daya, di Semenanjung Malaya, Sumatera dan pulau-pulau berdekatan. Habitat aslinya adalah hutan dataran rendah lembab subtropis atau tropis. Ia terancam oleh hilangnya habitat .

Taksonomi dan sistematika

Nama ilmiah sebelumnya, Iole olivacea Blyth, 1844, kini telah dinyatakan tidak berlaku secara permanen oleh IOC . Beberapa pihak berwenang telah mengklasifikasikan bulbul berventilasi ke dalam genera Hypsipetes dan Microscelis . Sebelumnya, brinji mata-putih dianggap sejenis dengan bulbul berventilasi hingga dipisahkan oleh IOC pada tahun 2017 ^[2]
