Oleh karena itu, ibu dan ayah Barrah adalah sepupu kedua. Apalagi, Barrah adalah sepupu Khadijah (istri pertama Nabi Muhammad) karena ibunya, Ummu Habib, adalah saudara perempuan ayah Khadijah, Khuwailid bin Asad. Selain itu, ibu dari Ummu Habib adalah Barrah binti Auf[4] bin Abid ibn Awij bin Adiy bin Ka'ab bin Lu'ay bin Ghalib;[5] ini adalah nenek dari pihak ibu Barrah binti Abdul Uzza.
