Az Ej, haj, gyöngyvirág kezdetű virágének már Pálóczi Horváth Ádám[1][2] 1813-ban befejezett Ó és Uj, mintegy Ötödfélszáz énekek, ki magam csinálmánya, ki másé című dalgyűjteményében megtalálható.[3]
