שאי האטן (באנגלית: Shay Hatten; נולד ב-18 במרץ 1994) הוא תסריטאי ומפיק אמריקאי.[1] הוא ידוע בעיקר בזכות עבודתו בסרטים "ג'ון וויק 3" (2019), "צבא המתים", "צבא הגנבים" (שניהם 2021) ו"ג'ון וויק 4" (2023).[2]

ביוגרפיה

האטן נולד באוקלנד, קליפורניה.[1] הוא סיים את לימודיו בבית ספר תיכון במוסקו, איידהו, בשנת 2012 ובבית הספר לקולנוע וטלוויזיה של אוניברסיטת לויולה מרימאונט בשנת 2016.[3]

קריירה

לאחר שסיים את לימודיו, האטן החל את הקריירה שלו כמתמחה ולאחר מכן עוזר תסריטאי בחברת ההפקה Team Downey. בעודו שם, הוא כתב את התסריט הספקולטיבי הראשון שלו בשם "!Maximum King", המתמקד בסטיבן קינג במהלך ההפקה של סרט הבימוי היחיד שלו, "מקסימום אוברדרייב". בשנת 2016 נבחר התסריט במדד הרשימה השחורה (אנ'), סקר שנתי לתסריטים שטרם הופקו. הוא המשיך בכתיבת תסריט ספקולטיבי נוסף בשם "Ballerina" (בלרינה), אשר נרכש בשנת 2017 על ידי ליונס גייט כדי שיופק על ידי חברת ההפקה של ג'ון וויק, Thunder Road Films.[3][4] האטן ייחס את הטון של "בלרינה" למה שהוביל להבאתו לצוות הכתיבה של "ג'ון וויק 3" ומאוחר יותר "ג'ון וויק 4".[5]

האטן גם כתב מספר תסריטים שזאק סניידר הפיק החל מסרטי נטפליקס משנת 2021 "צבא המתים" והפריקוול שלו "צבא הגנבים",[6] ואחריהם אופרת החלל האפית "ירח המרד".[7]

לסדרות טלוויזיה, הוא כתב פרקי פיילוט ל-"(Future) Cult Classic", סדרת טלוויזיה סאטירית,[8] ו"אני יודע מה עשית בקיץ האחרון", שעליה גם קיבל קרדיט בתור מפיק בפועל.[9]
