סמל קנדה עליו מופיע המוטו "מים עד ים" בתחתיתו

מים עד ים (מלטינית: A Mari Usque Ad Mare, באנגלית: From Sea to Sea, בצרפתית: D'un ocean à l'autre) הוא המוטו הלאומי של קנדה ומופיע על סמלה. המוטו מתאר את מיקומה של קנדה בין שני האוקיינוסים האטלנטי והשקט, מקורו הוא בגרסה הלטינית של ספר תהלים, פרק ע"ב, פסוק ח': ”Et dominabitur a mari usque ad mare, et a flumine usque ad terminos terrae” (בעברית: ”וירד מים עד ים, ומנהר עד אפסי ארץ”).

השימוש הראשון במשפט על מנת לתאר את קנדה היה בספרו של ג'ורג' מונרו גרנט "מאוקיינוס לאוקיינוס" משנת 1877. גרנט, איש ציבור קנדי, כומר ומטיף פרסביטרי, השתמש במשפט לתיאורה של קנדה בדרשותיו. השימוש הרשמי הראשון היה על בעת כינוסה של האספה המחוקקת של ססקצ'ואן בשנת 1906, הוצע כמוטו הלאומי בעבור סמלה החדש של קנדה על ידי ג'ון פופ, סמל אשר אושר וניתן בשנת 1921. העיצוב המקורי לא כלל מוטו, אולם לאחר כינוסה של ועדה לבחינת עיצובו המחודש של הסמל, בהשתתפותו של פופ אושר העיצוב החדש, ואושרר על ידי דבר המלך במועצה ב-21 באפריל 1921, וניתן רשמית על ידי המלך ג'ורג' החמישי ב-21 בנובמבר באותה השנה.

כחלק מהסמל הלאומי, המוטו משמש כסימן רשמי של שררה על ידי ארגונים ממשלתיים קנדיים, על שטרות כסף קנדיים וכן על דרכונים ותעודות מסע רשמיות. כמוטיב נפרד מופיע המוטו על כל הפרסומים הרשמיים של משרדי הממשל הפדרלי.
