מגפת הקורונה התפרצה ללוב במרץ 2020, המקרה הראשון אושר בטריפולי ב-24 במרץ.

לוב נחשבת לפגיעה במיוחד למגפה בגלל מלחמת האזרחים השנייה בלוב, שהובילה למצב הומניטרי קשה[2] ולהרס תשתית הבריאות הלאומית.[3]

רקע

ב-12 בינואר 2020 אישר ארגון הבריאות העולמי כי נגיף הקורונה הוא הגורם למחלת נשימה בעיר ווהאן, מחוז חוביי, סין.

יחס ההרוגים במקרה של COVID-19 נמוך בהרבה מנגיף הסארס בשנת 2003,[4][5] אך הההדבקה גדולה משמעותית.[6]

ציר זמן

מרץ 2020

לפני מגפת הנגיף הקורונה, מערכת הבריאות של לוב כבר הייתה על סף קריסה, נוכח הכאוס ששורר במדינה מאז 2011.[7] קבוצות של לוחמים במלחמת האזרחים בלוב התעלמו מהפצרות חוזרות ונשנות של האומות המאוחדות להפסקת אש.[3][8]

ב-24 במרץ אישרה לוב את מקרה ההדבקה הראשון שלה,[2] גבר בן 73 שחזר למדינה בתחילת מרץ מטיול בערב הסעודית.[7]

ב-30 במרץ הודיע הצבא המקומי (ה-GNA) על שחרורם של 466 עצורים בטריפולי, כחלק מהמאמץ לעצור את התפשטות הנגיף בבתי הכלא.[7]

ממשלת ההסכמה הלאומית (GNA) המוכרת בינלאומית, שבסיסה בטריפולי, והממשלה היריבה בפיקודו של ח'ליפה חפתר, שבסיסה במזרח לוב, נקטו בצעדים לשלוט על התפשטות המגפה, באמצעות סגירת בתי ספר, שווקים וחלק מהעסקים.

אפריל 2020

ב־2 באפריל אישרה לוב את המוות הראשון כתוצאה מהנגיף. זו הייתה אישה אלג'ירית בת 85.

ב-5 באפריל נפטר מחמוד ג'יבריל, בן 68, שעמד בראש מועצת המעבר הלאומית הבינלאומית בשנת 2011 לאחר שאושפז בבית החולים ב-21 במרץ.[9]

ב־6 באפריל, כוחות בפיקודו של ח'ליפה חפתר פתחו בפיגוע רקטות גראד[10] נגד בית החולים הכללי אל ח'דרה, אחד מבתי החולים הגדולים של טריפולי, הם פצעו שישה עובדי בריאות ופגעו באופן משמעותי בבית החולים,[3] בו 300 חולים. זו הייתה הפעם השלישית שהכוחות של הפטר תקפו מתקנים רפואיים במהלך המצור המוגבר שלהם על טריפולי.

למחרת, אישרה קירנאיקה את המקרה הראשון שלה.[11] עד 7 באפריל אישרה לוב 20 הדבקות בנגיף, בעיקר במערב לוב.[10] אחרי שבוע, הטילה ממשלת ההסכמה הלאומית עוצר של 24 שעות לתקופה של 10 ימים החל מ-17 באפריל.

ב- 26 ביוני, הממשלה הנתמכת על ידי האו"ם האריכה עוצר לילי לשבועיים נוספים.[12]
