לבה (באנגלית: LAVA) הוא סרט מוזיקלי קצר באנימציה ממוחשבת שהופק על ידי אולפני האנימציה פיקסאר בשנת 2014. הסרט הוצג לראשונה בפסטיבל האנימציה הבינלאומי של הירושימה ב-14 ביוני 2014 ומאוחר יותר שוחרר בקולנוע ב-19 ביוני 2015 לצד הסרט הקול בראש. בשנת 2018 הופץ הסרט באוסף הסרטים הקצרים של פיקסאר, חלק 3. הסרט הוא סיפור אהבה מוזיקלי בין שני הרי געש המתרחש על פני אלפי שנים, מלווה בשיר שנכתב בהשראת "היופי המבודד של האיים הטרופיים והפיתוי של הרי געש באוקיינוס".[1]

תקציר העלילה

באי טרופי באוקיינוס השקט, הר געש בודד בשם אוקו צופה בזוגות בעלי החיים שבסביבתו ומקווה לקבל בת זוג גם עבורו. הוא שר שיר לאוקיינוס כל יום במשך אלפי שנים, בעוד שבהדרגתיות עוצמת הלבה שלו נחלשת. ללא ידיעתו, הר געש נוספת בשם ללה נמצאת מתחת לאוקיינוס והקשיבה לשיריו כל השנים ואף התאהבה בו. היא יוצאת מהאוקיינוס בדיוק כשהוא כבה, אבל פניה מופנים לכיוון השני והיא לא יכולה לראות אותו. הוא שוקע אל תוך האוקיינוס, שבור לב, אבל קם לתחייה כשהוא שומע אותה שרה את שירו. הלבה שלו פורצת מחדש, הוא יוצא מהמים והשניים יוצרים אי מאוחד שבו הם חיים באושר.

הפקה

בזמן חופשה משפחתית בהוואי בשנת 2011, נודע למרפי על קיומו של הר געש ימי שגדל סמוך לאי גדול וכי בסופו של דבר ההר געש יתמזג עם האי. הוא החל לחשוב האם הר געש שיתמזג עם עוד הרי געש עד ליצירת אי חדש מודע לנוכחותם של שאר הרי הגעש, דבר שעורר בו השראה ליצור סיפור אהבה. מרפי גם מספר שנישואי אחותו בגיל 43 היו גם מקור השראה לנושא הסרט על אלה המחפשים אהבה ללא לאות.[2]

בגלל אהבתו להוואי, מרפי למד לנגן על יוקולילי ובסופו של דבר הלחין את השיר שעליו מבוסס השיר נושא של הסרט.[3]

מרפי היה מעוניין לעשות דמות שתהיה גם מקום. הוא אמר: "חשבתי שזה יהיה כל כך מגניב להתאהב במקום שהוא גם דמות, רציתי להפוך את אוקו למושך וחביב אבל גם שיראה כאילו הוא נחצב מתוך זרמי לבה".[4]

פניו של אוקו מבוססים על פניו של המדובב קואנה טורס קהלה, על פניו של השחקן ג'קי גליסון, ועל פניו של הכלב המצויר מארק אנטוני שייצר צ'אק ג'ונס.[5] במקביל, צורתם של אוקו וללה מבוססת על מקומות גאוגרפיים אמיתיים.

צוות ההפקה נאבק עם העובדה שהדמויות אינן אמורות לזוז, ולכן את רוב ההבעות האנימטורים יצרו בעיניים ובפה, בעוד ששאר הגוף של הדמויות נשאר ללא תנועה.[6]
