אן לקי (באנגלית: Ann Leckie; נולדה ב-2 במרץ 1966) היא סופרת אמריקאית הכותבת מדע בדיוני ופנטזיה. ספר הביכורים שלה "יושרה שניונית" (Ancillary Justice) שראה אור לראשונה בשנת 2013 בהוצאת אורביט זיכה אותה בפרס הוגו לשנת 2014, בפרס נבולה, בפרס ע"ש ארתור סי. קלארק, בפרס לוקוס לספרי ביכורים ובפרס BSFA המוענק על ידי האגודה הבריטית למדע בדיוני. ספרה השני בסדרת טרילוגיית אימפריית הרדש (או טרילוגיית השניונית): "חרב שניונית" (Ancillary Sword) יצא לאור באוקטובר 2014, ובעקבותיו ראה אור "חמלה שניונית" (Ancillary Mercy).

ספרי הטרילוגיה וספר נוסף "מקור ראשוני" תורגמו לעברית על ידי עמנואל לוטם ויצאו לאור בהוצאת סיאל.[1][2]

קריירה

לקי גדלה בסנט לואיס, מיזורי, והייתה מעריצת ז'אנר המדע הבדיוני מגיל צעיר. בשנות העשרה והעשרים לחייה שלחה סיפורים פרי עטה לפרסום ללא הצלחה. רק סיפור אחד בסגנון "רומן רומנטי" פורסם ללא שמה בצהובון.

לאחר שכבר נישאה ונולדו לה שני ילדיה ב-1996 ו-2000, השעמום שהרגישה בתור עקרת בית בפרברים הוביל אותה לחזור לכתיבה, והיא חיברה במסגרת "חודש כתיבת הרומן הארצי" לשנת 2002 את מה שעתיד היה להיות הטיוטה הראשונה של הספר "יושרה שניונית". ב-2005 היא השתתפה בסדנה לכתיבה "קלריון" תחת הדרכתה של אוקטביה באטלר, והמשיכה לעבד את ספרה במשך שש שנים נוספות.[3]

לקי פרסמה סיפורים קצרים רבים במגזינים למדע בדיוני ופנטזיה. סיפוריה נכללו באוספים, כולל "מיטב השנה במדע הבדיוני ובפנטזיה" בעריכת ריץ' הורטון.[4]

היא ערכה את המגזין המקוון למדע בדיוני ופנטזיה, Giganotosaurus, בין השנים 2010-2013,[5] והיא עוזרת העורכת בפודקאסט PodCastle.[6] היא שמשה כמזכירת אגודת סופרי המדע הבדיוני והפנטזיה באמריקה מ-2012 עד 2013.[7]

בספטמבר 2018 ביקרה בישראל והשתתפה כאורחת הכבוד בפסטיבל אייקון 18 המאורגן על ידי האגודה הישראלית למדע בדיוני ולפנטסיה והעמותה למשחקי תפקידים בישראל[8][9]. כחלק מהשתתפותה קיימה שיחה עם מתרגם ספריה לעברית ד"ר עמנואל לוטם על האתגר בתרגום ספרי הטרילוגיה לעברית מבחינת ההתייחסות למגדר [10]

טרילוגיית אימפריית הרַדְש

ספר הביכורים של לקי, "יושרה שניונית", הראשון בטרילוגיית אופרת החלל "אימפריית הרַדְש", פורסם לביקורות מהללות באוקטובר 2013, ואף זכה בכל הפרסים המובילים בתחום המדע הבדיוני בשפה האנגלית - פרס הוגו, פרס נבולה, והפרס על שם ארתור סי. קלארק. למעשה, לקי היא הסופרת הראשונה שזכתה ב"טריפקטה" זו.[11] הספר מספר את הסיפור של בּרֶק, הניצולה היחידה מהרס ספינת חלל בשירות האימפריה, אשר נושאת בתוכה את הבינה המלאכותית של ספינת המלחמה. - המבקשת לנקום את השמדתה. בנות האדם שמשרתות בספינה הן "פוסט-מגדריות", כלומר חיות בחברה בה אין מגדר, ואף השפה שלהן אינה מבדילה בין זכר לנקבה, ומשתמשת בלשון אישה ללא קשר לגוף הדמות המיוחסת. הספר נחשב לביקורת נוקבת על החברה המגדרית העכשווית, ושפות מבוססות מגדר.[12]

הספר השני בטרילוגיה, "חרב שניונית", יצא באוקטובר 2014, וספר הסיום, "חמלה שניונית" ראה אור באוקטובר 2015.

בנוסף, פרסמה לקי שני סיפורים קצרים המתרחשים בעולם "אימפריית הרדש": Night's Slow Poison"[13] ו-"She Commands Me and I Obey".[14]

ספרים נוספים

ב 2015 רכשה הוצאת Orbit מלקי שני ספרים נוספים שהראשון מביניהם: "מקור ראשוני" (Provenance) שמתרחש אף הוא ביקום של "אימפריית הרדש" יצא לאור ב-2017.[15][16]

ספר נוסף שיצא לאור ב-2019 "The Raven Tower" הוא ספר פנטזיה אשר אינו קשור לאותו העולם.[17]

ב 2023 יצא לאור ספר נוסף של לקי "Translation state" שאף הוא מתרחש ביקום של "אימפריית הרדש".
