עמוס שליאק (בגרמנית: Amos Schliack; נולד ב-21 באוקטובר 1951) הוא צלם גרמני, המתגורר בהמבורג ובלונדון.

ביוגרפיה

שליאק נולד בבון כבנם השני של הנוירולוג והפרופסור הנס שליאק ואשתו רנאטה (לבית שטיינקופף). חדשים מעטים לאחר הולדתו עברה המשפחה לליבק, ובשנת 1956 עברה שנית, למערב ברלין, ובה גדל והתבגר. כאשר היה בן שלוש עשרה, גילה שליאק את מצלמת הפילם הישנה של אביו וערך באמצעותה את ניסיונותיו הראשונים בצילום. במהלך שנות ה-60' קיים אביו מחקר רפואי בשיתוף בית החולים הדסה בירושלים, וכך התאפשרה לו ההזדמנות לשהות ממושכת בישראל. תקופה זו עוררה בשליאק סקרנות עזה בנוגע לישראל וליהדות, שהשפיעה על דרכו בהמשך. לאחר סיום לימודיו בגימנזיום קאנט בברלין, למד אדריכלות באוניברסיטה הטכנית של ברלין, אצל דיטמר גרצבך. מפגש רב השפעה עם הצלם הרברט ליסט וידידות עמו הובילו את שליאק לממש את משיכתו לצילום כמקצוע.

קריירה

ב-1974 עבר שליאק להמבורג משיקולים מקצועיים, וב-1976 החל לעבוד עבור כתב העת החדש דאז, GEO, השבועון שטרן, כמו גם עבור כתבי עת אחרים. באותה תקופה יצר כתבות מקיפות רבות, ובשיתוף פעולה עם הכותבים ויבקה ברונס (Wibke Bruhns), הנריק ברודר (Henryk Broder) ומארק א. וודקוק (Mark E. Woodcock) הוציא לאור ספרים על אודות ירושלים,[1] שכונת מאה שערים[2] וניו יורק.[3]

בין השנים 1978 ו-1981 בילה שליאק למעלה משנה וחצי (לא ברציפות) בירושלים במסגרת עבודתו עבור כתב העת GEO. בתקופה זו המשיך את שיתוף הפעולה עם ויבקה ברונס עבור כתב העת "שטרן". ב-1981 תיעד את חומת ברלין מצדה המערבי, במלאת עשרים שנה לבנייתה. התיעוד והכתבה התפרסמו ב"שטרן" ובספר שהוקדש לפרויקט. בקיץ 1982 שהה שליאק בניו יורק, ובה יצר, במסגרת חוזה עם חברת אלפרד דנהיל (Alfred Dunhill) סדרה של עבודות על גורדי שחקים, שהוצגו הן בתערוכה והן בספר שהוקדש לסדרה. על מנת להמחיש את רעיון הגובה, החליט – על אף פחד הגבהים איתו התמודד – לצלם מתוך מסוק, ולנסות להציג את נקודת מבטם של פועלי בניין על פיגומים גבוהים.

על צילומיו לכתבה “Station Peiper” אודות מרפאה לילדים חולי סרטן בבית החולים האוניברסיטאי של גיסן, שהתפרסמה ב"שטרן" בשנת 1983, זכה שליאק בפרס הראשון של התחרות היוקרתית World Press Photo.[4] באמצע שנות ה-80 פנה שליאק לצילומי אוכל, פרסומות ודיוקנאות, ועד לשנת 2004 עבד בסטודיו פרטי ברובע הגרינדל בהמבורג עבור סוכנויות ידיעות וכתבי עת. במהלך תקופה זו יצר מספר ספרי בישול, בהם צילומי מזון וסקירות המתעדות אף את החקלאים, מגדלי המזון.[5] במסגרת חוזה ארוך שנים עם הבנק Hamburger Sparkasse והסוכנות BBDO יצר עמוס קמפיין שכלל למעלה מ-100 צילומי שחור-לבן של תושבי המבורג. צילומים אלו הוצגו לאחר מכן.

בשנת 2004 עבר שליאק ללונדון. בקיץ 2006 שהה בחיפה, ובה תיעד את מלחמת לבנון השנייה ואת נפילת טילי החזבאללה, מנקודת מבטם של בית החולים רמב"ם ומגן דוד אדום. ב-2008 עבד בתל אביב במשך תשעה חודשים כצלם הבית, פרויקט לרגל חגיגות המאה לתל אביב. בשנת 2009 שב להמבורג ומאז הוא מחלק את זמנו בין המבורג ללונדון.

בהשראת מפגש עם האמן גונטר דמניג החל שליאק לתעד את פרויקט 'אבני נגף' Stolpersteine בהמבורג, ויזם ברובע מגוריו, ביום הזיכרון לליל הבדולח, את פעולת התושבים 'גרינדל מאירה' (Grindel Leuchtet). במסגרת הפעולה, בליל 9 בנובמבר (תאריך ליל הבדולח) מדליקים התושבים נרות לצד אבני הנגף הרבות במדרכות השכונה. יוזמה זו בה החל שליאק זכתה לחיים משל עצמה ומתקיימת מדי שנה. צילומיו את אבני הנגף ברובע הגרינדל, לצד צילומים ממאה שערים ומאושוויץ הוצגו בגלריה פוסטל, אף היא בשכונה.[6]
