סטוק אייטקן ווטרמן

סטוק אייטקן ווטרמן (באנגלית: Stock Aitken Waterman) הייתה שלישייה לכתיבת שירים והפקה מוזיקלית שמנתה את הפזמונאי מייק סטוק, המלחין והפזמונאי מט אייטקן והמפיק פיט ווטרמן. השלישייה פעלה בין אמצע שנות ה-80 ועד ראשית שנות ה-90 בבריטניה, באמצעות חברת ההפקה של ווטרמן (Pete Waterman Limited (PWL והפיקה להיטי פופ קליטים ומסחריים בסגנון היי-אנרג'י (Hi-nrg, שילוב בין סוגות דיסקו, דאנס וסינת'פופ). במהלך התקופה הם שלטו במצעדי הפזמונים של בריטניה. למעלה מ-100 מלהיטיהם הגיעו לבין 40 המקומות הראשונים במצעד ולכן היה כינויים "בית חרושת ללהיטים" (Hit Factory).

בראשית התקופה עסקה השלישייה בהעברת מוזיקה לריקודים ממועדוני ההומוסקסואלים התוססים לזרם המרכזי. האמן הידוע ביותר שהעבירו ממועדונים אלה למיינסטרים היה דיוויין, ב-1984. באותה שנה הפיקו את שירה של קפריסין לתחרות הזמר של האירוויזיון. ב-1985 הגיע שירם "(You Spin Me Round (Like a Record" (אנ') בביצוע להקת Dead or Alive (אנ') לראש מצעד הפזמונים והתחיל מסורת ארוכה.

בשנים הבאות עסקה השלישייה ב"בניית" כוכבים, בדגש על הופעה אטרקטיבית, יכולת ריקוד וקצב סוחף, כך טיפחו את הקריירות של קיילי מינוג, ג'ייסון דונובן, ריק אסטלי, להקת הבנות בננהרמה (אנ') ורבים אחרים.
