A televisión en 3D utiliza técnicas de estereoscopia para difundir imaxes con sensación relevo nun televisor.

Desenvolvemento

Aínda que xa se demostrara a televisión en 3D data de 1929[1] non se desenvolveu minimamente como ocorreu no cinema que tivo un primeiro auxe na década de 1950 [2]. O seu desenvolvemento comezou coa chegada da tecnoloxía dixital que fai posible evitar ou diminuír a fatiga do ollo humano, pero a súa implantación depende da calidade de visión, da dispoñibilidade de contido, da compatibilidade coa infraestrutura actual e do desenvolvemento do Multiview Video Coding[3]. Na actualidade non existe un estándar común para a televisión 3D e cada fabricante emprega os seus. Nalgúns países existen algunhas canles que emiten contidos 3D, a primeira foi a xaponesa BS11 que emite desde a súa aparición en decembro de 2007[4] algunhas horas ao día en 3D.
