O perihelio é o punto dunha órbita no que o obxecto celeste orbitante (planeta, asteroide, ou cometa) está a menor distancia do Sol ou da estrela arredor da cal orbita. A variación da distancia orbitais entre o obxecto orbitante e o obxecto arredor do cal orbita débese a que as órbitas son elípticas.
