A illa do doutor Moreau (en inglés: The Island of Doctor Moreau) é unha novela de ciencia ficción de 1896 escrita por H. G. Wells. O texto da novela é a narración de Edward Prendick, un náufrago rescatado que é deixado na illa do doutor Moreau, un científico tolo que crea ser humanos a partir de animais mediante a vivisección. A novela trata un gran número de temas filosóficos, incluíndo a dor e a crueldade, a responsabilidade moral, a identidade humana e a interferencia humana na natureza.[2] Wells describiuna como "un exercicio de blasfemia xuvenil".[3]

A illa do doutor Moreau é un clásico da ciencia ficción temperá[4] e é un dos libros de Wells máis coñecidos. A novela é unha das primeiras descricións do tema de ciencia ficción "elevación biolóxica" no que unha raza máis avanzada intervén na evolución dunha especie animal co obxectivo de elevala a un nivel maior de intelixencia.[5] Foi adaptado ó cinema e a outros medios en varias ocasións.

Foi traducida ó galego por Onofre Savaté e publicado por Edicións Positivas en 2005.[6]
