Le Gom Jabbar est un dispositif fictif décrit dans le cycle de Dune, de Frank Herbert. Le Gom Jabbar est une aiguille empoisonnée employée par les sœurs du Bene Gesserit. Ce nom signifie littéralement « le Haut ennemi ».

Le Gom Jabbar tue les non-humains, c’est-à-dire les hommes qui n’ont pas maîtrisé leurs réflexes animaux. Le Gom Jabbar est utilisé conjointement avec une boîte qui produit une douleur intense par induction nerveuse. Seul un humain est capable de résister à cette douleur. Celui ou celle qui échoue au test meurt instantanément car il se pique sur l’aiguille empoisonnée.

La révérende mère Gaius Helen Mohiam testa l’humanité de Paul Atréides juste avant son départ pour Arrakis. Quand il deviendra empereur, Paul-Muad'Dib Atréides lui remémorera cet épisode en lui faisant comprendre que les Fremens sont devenus son Gom Jabbar pointé sur l’univers entier[1].

C’est également avec un Gom Jabbar qu’Alia Atréides tue le baron Vladimir Harkonnen lors de l’assaut Fremen sur Arrakeen.
