L'aqueduc du mésencéphale (anc. aqueduc de Sylvius) est un canal dorso-médian situé dans le mésencéphale entre le tegmentum ventral et le tectum plus dorsal. Il est empli de liquide cérébrospinal et communique avec les troisième, en haut, et quatrième ventricules cérébraux, en bas. Il est circonscrit par la substance grise périaqueducale. L'occlusion de ce canal peut être à l'origine d'une hydrocéphalie.

Le nom de cette structure provient d'une description faite par Franciscus Sylvius en 1650[1], bien qu'il ne soit pas le premier à la décrire[2].
