Helsingforssáttmálin

23. mars 1962. Forsætisráðharrin í Finnlandi, Martti Miettunen, skrivar undir Helsingforssáttmálan.

Helsingforssáttmálin ella Helsingforsavtalan er ein politisk avtala millum Danmark, Ísland, Noreg, Svøríki og Finnland, sum setir karmarnar um norðurlendska samstarvið. Føroyar eru við í hesum samstarvi, eins og Grønland og Áland.[1]

Søga

Í 1962 varð Helsingforssáttmálin samtyktur, og varð hetta formliga grundarlagið fyri norðurlandasamstarvinum. Sáttmálin ásetti seks samstarvsøkir: rættar-, mentanar-, almanna-, fíggjar-, flutnings- og umhvørvisøki. Samstarvið kom síðan at fevna um samstarv á øllum stjórnarøkjum uttan trygdar-, verju- og uttanríkispolitikk.[2]

Helsingforssáttmálin varð undirritaður 23. mars í 1962 (Norðurlandadagurin) og kom í gildi tann 1. juli sama ár. Síðan tá er sáttmálin broyttur fleiri ferðir (13. februar 1971, 11. mars 1974, 15. juni 1983, 6. mai 1985, 21. august 1991, 18. mars 1993 og 29. september 1995).[3]
