Waiting for the Sun on yhdysvaltalaisen rockyhtye The Doorsin heinäkuussa 1968 julkaisema studioalbumi. Se on ainoa The Doorsin levy, joka nousi Yhdysvaltain listaykköseksi.

Levyllä on mukana Jim Morrisonin kirjoittaman ”The Celebration of Lizardin” sanoitus. Nimikappale ”Waiting for the Sun” jätettiin pois tältä albumilta, mutta se julkaistiin myöhemmin albumilla Morrison Hotel.

Albumin tunnetuimpia kappaleita lienevät Yhdysvaltojen singlelistan ykkössijan saavuttanut ”Hello, I Love You” ja Vietnamin sotaa kritisoiva ”The Unknown Soldier”. Kummastakin kappaleesta julkaistiin promovideot televisioon.
