Väinö Puokka

Väinö Hjalmar Puokka, sukunimi vuoteen 1906 Johansson (3. toukokuuta 1879 Helsinki – 25. maaliskuuta 1958 Helsinki)[1][2][3][4] oli suomalainen toimitusjohtaja ja kemigraafi.[5][6][7]

Väinö Puokan vanhemmat olivat ajuri Evert Johansson ja Emilia Karoliina Heikkilä. Puokka kävi kansakoulun ja suoritti kemigraafiopin Tilgmannin kemigraafisessa laitoksessa 1895–1900 ja hän oli sitten Tilgmannin palveluksessa vuoteen 1906 saakka, jolloin hän perusti Kemigraafinen Oy:n. Puokka oli Kemigraafinen Oy:n toimitusjohtajana 1906–1945 ja tämän toimen ohella hän työskenteli Kustannus Oy Otavan syväpainon johtajana vuosina 1924–1938.[5][7]

Puokka oli Suomen Graafillisen Teollisuuden Harjoittajain Liiton hallituksen jäsenenä 1914–1949 ja Emil Vainion rahaston valtuuskunnan puheenjohtajana ja rahastonhoitajana vuodesta 1921. Hän oli mukana työehtosopimusneuvotteluissa ja oli monet vuodet graafisen teollisuuden sovinto-oikeuden jäsenenä. Helsingin Graafillisen Klubin puheenjohtajana Puokka oli vuonna 1928 ja hän edusti Suomen graafikoita useissa kansainvälisissä kongresseissa sekä teki ulkomaisia opintomatkoja.[5][7]

Puokka oli 1917 mukana perustamassa kirjapainokoneita ja -tarvikkeita välittänyttä Oy Papyrus Ab:ta ja hän kuului liikkeen johtokuntaan vuoteen 1935 saakka, toimien viimeiset kymmenen vuotta johtokunnan puheenjohtajana. Vuonna 1935 hän perusti uuden saman alan liikkeen, Kirjapainotarvike Oy:n.[5][8]

Puokka omisti sukunsa vanhan kotitalon Puokan Nurmijärven Valkjärvellä.[5]

Väinö Puokka oli naimisissa vuodesta 1904 Fanny Elisa Lampénin kanssa. Heidän poikansa oli filosofian tohtori Jaakko Puokka, joka oli Kemigraafinen Oy:n toimitusjohtajana isänsä jälkeen 1945–1976.[7][9] Väinö Puokka kuoli vuonna 1958 myrkyttäytymällä barbituurihapolla tai sen johdannaisella.[4]
