The Atlantic (vuosina 1857–2007 viralliselta nimeltään The Atlantic Monthly) on yhdysvaltalainen aikakauslehti, joka on perustettu 1857. Se oli alkujaan kirjallisuus- ja kulttuurilehti, mutta nykyisin se on kulttuurin, politiikan ja talouden yleisaikakauslehti.[1][2]

Historia

The Atlantic -lehden numeron kansi 1.12.1857.

Lehden perustajaryhmään kuuluivat muun muassa kirjailijat Harriet Beecher Stowe, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr., sekä James Russell Lowell, josta tuli sen ensimmäinen päätoimittaja. Nykyinen toimitusjohtaja ja kustantaja on John Fox Sullivan.[3]
