Svenska folkskolans vänner

Svenska folkskolans vänner rf (lyh. SFV) on suomenruotsalainen yhdistys, joka on perustettu 1882 edistämään suomenruotsalaisten koulutusta ja sivistystä.[1]

Historia

Yhdistyksen perusti Vilhelm Grefberg.[2] Kun Suomeen oli tullut oppivelvollisuus vuonna 1921, yhdistyksen tehtävänä on ollut tukea yksityisiä ruotsinkielisiä kansakouluja ja lasten päiväkoteja seuduilla, joilla ruotsin kieli on vähemmistöasemassa. Nykyisin yhdistys ylläpitää myös ruotsinkielisiä kansankorkeakouluja ja ammattikoulutusta Axxell Utbildning Ab:n puitteissa. Yhdistys omisti kustantamo Schildts förlagin, ja sillä on huomattava omaisuus. Yhdistys innostaa ja tukee myös yksityishenkilöitä palkinnoilla ja stipendeillä.

Toiminta

Tukiyhdistyksellä Understödsföreningen för Svenska folkskolans vänner rf:llä on noin 7 000 henkilöjäsentä. Emoyhdistyksen Svenska folkskolans vänner rf:n jäseneksi kutsuu sen hallitus, jäseniä on noin 400.[3].

Yhdistys on julkaissut vuosittain vuodesta 1886 vuosikirjaa SFV-kalendern.[4] Vuodesta 2015 neljästi vuodessa ilmestyvän jäsenlehden nimi on SFV-magasinet. Svenska folkskolans vänner on julkaissut vuodesta 2009 alkaen verkossa ollutta hakuteosta Uppslagsverket Finland, joka on lukijoiden käytössä maksutta. Vuosina 1922–2015 yhdistys julkaisi jäsenlehteä Svenskbygden.

Omistuksia

Yhdistys on Veritas Eläkevakuutuksen seitsemänneksi suurin osakkeenomistaja 7,32 prosentin osuudella[5]

Jaetut avustukset

Yhdistys jakoi vuonna 2023 noin 2,2 miljoonaa euroa avustuksina, palkintoina ja stipendeinä.
