Philip Cowell

Philip Herbert Cowell (7. elokuuta 1870 – 6. kesäkuuta 1949[1]) oli englantilainen tähtitieteilijä. Hän oli vuodesta 1896 Greenwichin observatorion pääassistentti ja vuodesta 1910 Nautical Almanach Office -viraston johtaja. Cowell julkaisi tutkimuksia Kuun ja Jupiterin 8:nnen kuun liikkeistä ja tutki yhdessä Andrew Crommelinin kanssa Halleyn komeetan rataa.[2] Hänen mukaansa on nimetty asteroidi 1898 Cowell[1].
